Ouch! Candidate passes kidney stone during debate

Have you heard the one about the political candidate who was passing a kidney stone during a debate?
It’s not a joke. This really happened to Steve Grossman, the Democratic treasurer of Massachusetts who is running for governor.
Grossman, a former Democratic National Committee chairman, was in physical pain and “in the throes of passing a kidney stone” during the 90-minute forum Tuesday night on gay and lesbian issues, according to The Boston Globe.
Grossman’s spokeswoman, Chandra Allard, told the Boston newspaper that the treasurer has suffered from chronic kidney stones off and on for the last 30 years. He awoke in pain on Tuesday but insisted on going through with his schedule.
The stone finally passed during an awards ceremony Grossman attended after the debate sponsored by MassEquality Education Fund and WGBH, The Globe reported.
Because we live in the era of social media, Grossman’s medical issue inspired a parody
