Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Vice-Chairman South-South, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Vice-Chairman South of All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, Mr. Solomon Edebiri, have reached out to Governor Adams Oshiomhole to support their 2016 governorship aspirations.
Edebiri, who contested the 2012 governorship election in the state against Oshiomhole on the platform of ANPP, made the appeal during Ize-Iyamu’s house warming ceremony in his village at Orhiomnwon Local Government Area of the state.
Edebiri, who described Oshiomhole as God’s sent to the people of the state, said: “I have said it before, in 2016 either he (Ize-Iyamu) becomes the governor or Edebiri becomes the governor. It does not matter who.
“I am saying this before the governor because he has to support one of us.”
Ize-Iyamu thanked to Oshiomhole for attending the ceremony, saying “I recall that when you came in as governor, you told us that you noticed that the political leaders from Edo South do not have personal houses in their communities but rather prefer to put mansions in the state capital.
“Edo people have a lot of reasons to be grateful to him. He has laid the foundation for his successor to build on.”
