Police nab 2 siblings, others over theft of N4m BMW car

Akure — DETECTIVES from Ondo State police command have arrested three suspected robbers, including two brothers, who at gun point, snatched an unregistered BMW car valued at N4 million and sold it for N700,000. The suspects, including Olubunmi Ojo, Adekunle Ojo and Isaac Fadairo, are part of the 27 suspected criminals paraded by the command in Akure, weekend.

Ten other suspected members of secret cults, a rapist and three other suspected house breakers, were also paraded by the state police commissioner, Mr Isaac Eke. Eke said the criminals were arrested in different parts of the state last month. According to him, one vehicle and three rifles were recovered from the suspects.

He said the suspects were arrested in Ifon, Ore, Iju, Ondo, Owo and Akure, the state capital. Speaking on the three suspects who robbed one Sola Orisamoluwa, Eke said it took place at Ijoka area of Akure. According to him, two robbers attacked the victim around 9pm and robbed him of the car, clothes, shoes and mobile phone valued at about N100,000.

Detectives attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad swung into action and through intelligence gathering, arrested one of the brothers, Olubunmi Ojo, who led them to his brother, Adekunle. A Tecno mobile phone stolen from the victim was recovered from Olubunmi who confessed that his brother, Adekunle, gave it to him.

Upon interrogation, Adekunle, according to the police chief, confessed to the crime and fingered other members of the gang. He later led the detectives to Ado Ekiti where the stolen BMW car was recovered.
