Lagos â€” A 32-year-old man, Ademola Adewusi, was yesterday arraigned before an Ikeja magistrateâ€™s court for allegedly assaulting a man and his son.
The defendant who resides at 19, Raji Street Dopemu, Agege was docked before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe.
The defendant is facing a two-count charge of assault preferred against him by the police.
The Police prosecutor, ASP Iranus Nnamonu, told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offence on Monday, March 3, 2014 at about 8 p.m.
He said Adewusi assaulted one Timothy Ogunbamwo, who is 77years old, by hitting him all over his body, which caused injuries.
Nnamonu also alleged that the defendant also assaulted one Olayinka Ogunbamwo, a son of the 77-year-old man, by hitting him on the head with a plank.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him when it was read.
The magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one responsible surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case till April 17, 2014 for mention.

LAGOSâ€” A 41-year old unemployed man, Godstime Ejiro, has been remanded in prison by Magistrate Margaret Dan-Oni of an Ikeja magistrate court over alleged robbery.
The defendant, who has no fixed address, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery preferred against him by the police.
The Police prosecutor, Inspector Edet Okoi, told the court that the defendant and others at large conspired to commit the alleged offence on February 15, 2014, at about 6am.
He said the robbery incident happened at Ayilara Street, in Surulere area of Lagos State.
