A cross sections of residents in Port Harcourt have condemned the membership of the Rivers state governor Chibuike Amaechi in the people Democratic Party faction led by Alhaji Abdullahi Kawu Baraja.
The residents who spoke intensively in an interview with this publication said Governor Amaechi declaring his membership open in the PDP faction has shown that the governor has an ambition of becoming vice President of the country comes 2015 election.
Condemning the governor’s actions, they said he would end up destroying his political career in future.
They said governor Amaechi have clearly made it known that his fighting for his own interest and not for the interest of Rivers people.
Meanwhile governor Amaechi has said that he is a member of the party faction which according to him that the party is forging ahead to a better light.
Governor Amaechi said this in an interview with journalists shortly after his arrival from Abuja in Port Harcourt.
Also information reaching this medium is that two senators from Rivers state who are Senator Magnus Abe and Wilson Ake are also member of the PDP faction.
