Censorship: Lagos reads riot act to film makers

In a renewed effort to fully implement its mandate as a regulatory agency, the Management of the Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board LSFVCB, has commenced  the monitoring cum classification of artistic works including musicals as well as registration of associations and practitioners in the entertainment industry.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Mr. Bamidele Balogun, who disclosed this development at the weekend, during a meeting with some stakeholders, explained that it had become imperative for the board to commence the monitoring cum classification of the films that are produced and exhibited within the state .
‘Some people have openly expressed their misgivings about the quality of the content and production of the films being exhibited within the state and as a body set up to regulate the activities of the practitioners in the film and music sector, it behooves on us to address those issues so that things should be done properly,’he stated.
