Dragnet Solutions biometric technology subsidiary, Biometrica International, has said that its biometric technology provided by Warwick Warp UK, has received full certification in the United States.
Biometrica International provides fingerprint solutions to the Nigerian market with the WW biometric technology, rated according to the world’s standards as the 3rd best in finger print matching algorithm (accuracy). "With this additional MINEX accomplishment, Biometrica International is positioned to bring world class standards as her counterparts in other nations of the world in regards to fingerprint technology," the company said.
The Minutiae Interoperability Exchange Test (MINEX) is an ongoing evaluation of the INCITS 378 fingerprint templates. The MINEX test program provides assurances of the interoperability of core template encoding to users, vendors and integrators as well as being a pre-requisite for participation in government schemes across the globe. MINEX certification denotes that the template encoding not only conforms to international interoperability standards but is also in compliance with US government programmes.
Chief Executive Officer of Warwick Warp, Stewart Hefferman, said: "We are absolutely delighted to receive this important certification."
He further added that "Receiving MINEX certification provides assurance to our partners and customers, that our fingerprint feature extractor meets international and government standards. It also opens up exciting new opportunities for government applications and demonstrates our continued investment in research and development".
Hefferman added that "We are seeing a growing demand for fingerprint identification systems and MINEX certification is an important prerequisite for participation in our key markets."
