Codewit Helsinki – Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, author of Half of a Yellow Sun and Purple Hibiscus ,was here today for her book reading and signing event sponsored by the University of Helsinki, Finland . The author read excerpts from her book and talk about her experienceÂ growing upÂ in the university town of Nsukka in south-eastern Nigeria, where the University of Nigeria is situated, and how it influence her writing as well as other creative influences. She also addressed the audience on a wide range of issues about Biafran war and the need to learn ofÂ our past in order to be equipped for future.
The book reading and presentation took place at the University of Helsinki (Porthania)Â Â on Friday,Â April 17, 2009.Â
